Griffith University and the AEMF have an agreement for the AEMF to provide electron microscopy facilities for GU. Consequently, staff and students from GU have similar access to the AEMF to those from QUT. There are no EM instrument or training charges for GU users, but some other normal charges apply (see Services & Charges).
If you wish to use the facility, please contact the AEMF staff about what you wish to do, and whether you need assistance on the instruments. They can then arrange a booking and/or training on an instrument for you.
The AEMF staff are responsible for training in basic instrument operation. Users must not show others how to operate any of the unit’s facilities unless prior arrangements have been made with AEMF staff. This applies to all equipment within the AEMF.
You will be required to attend a short Health and Safety Induction, complete a Sample Record Form (PDF / DOC), and also read and comply with the AEMF General Rules for the Laboratory document (PDF / DOC) and the Laboratory Procedures document (PDF / DOC), prior to working in the AEMF.
Parking at the QUT Gardens Point campus is very limited. Please advise if you need visitor parking (even with a GU car), as parking has to be booked by the AEMF at least one or two days in advance. Parking spaces are not always available.
